Sunday School

FBC is pleased to offer classes for all ages, preschool through adult. The Sunday School hour begins every Sunday at 9:30am. Toddlers through 6th grade receive a Bible-centered learning experience through stories, activities, testimonies and songs. The Youth Department provides lessons in contemporary topics for both the Junior and Senior High classes. The adult classes are currently going through a chronological study of the Bible.

Based on our Biblical beliefs and sound educational principles, we lead learners to understand the Bible and to apply its truth to their lives. That's why each class has its own unique course of study. Our structured plan emphasizes appropriate Biblical truth for each age level and builds in depth as students grow older.

Biblical Foundations for Sunday School

  • Sunday school affirms the Bible as God’s Word and as the textbook for understanding and for fully integrating truth into life (2Timothy 3:15-17)
  • Sunday School excepts the Great Commission as the mission mandate to God’s people and becomes a way of fulfilling that mission as people are lead to obey Christ’s commandments (Matthew 28:19-20)
  • Sunday School affirms the Christian family as the primary institution for biblical instruction (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
  • Sunday School enables believers to be servant-leaders and offers them opportunities to discover, develop, and use their spiritual gifts and abilities in service to Christ and His people (1Corinthians 12-13; Romans:1-8; Ephesians 4:12)

Objectives of Sunday School are to:

  • Reach people for Christ
  • Teach people God’s Word
  • Minister to people’s needs
  • Encourage all students to participate in the program
  • Make our Sunday School spiritually enriching for our children
  • Establish a stable, non-threatening educational environment
  • Have a dependable volunteer staff, who because of their personal commitment to Christ, serve His church as teachers
  • Provide students the opportunity to learn about stewardship and caring for our church family
  • Learn how to work together with one another in God’s family
