Small Groups

Small Group Bible Studies are scheduled began Sunday, September 19. This is a great time of learning about the Bible and about establishing or renewing relationships. Studies generally meet on Sunday night, but other times will also be available this fall. There are a variety of topics which are practical for everyday living.

The next session of Small Group Bible Studies will begin January, 2011.

Seeking God’s Guidance
Led by Mike Moussa
This study’s author begins by saying, "God has given me free will, and while I appreciate his confidence in my ability to choose, there are times when I wish that he would make the decisions for me." This study is solving that problem, about making God centered decisions. The Bible does not give us specific direction in every decision we make but it does give us clear principles in how we should make every decision. The most basic principle is one which is fundamental to Christianity, everything we do should be glorifying to God. But what does that mean, come to this study and learn how to make decisions and to live our lives such that we glorify God in our every action.

Awakening Other Virtues
Led by Phill Gatz
Big, colorful virtues like courage and decisiveness in crisis easily get our attention. But sometimes it's those everyday values that shape us much more profoundly. Lost in our noisy, flashy, gaudy world are the quiet virtues that work behind the scenes--molding our character, guiding our actions, enriching our lives. This study unfolds the beauty and nature of each, showing us how to take notice of discernment, innocence, generosity, authenticity and more. In in this book study you'll discover how far from being dull these quieter virtues actually are. Though often hidden, discernment, innocence, authenticity, modesty, reverence, contentment, and generosity play crucially formative roles in who we become and what we do.

Sunday, 6:30pm, offsite
Love in Action
Led by Jim Ferguson & Bill Wintermute
In our "me-first" culture, servanthood is the earmark of men and women who have discovered the joy of giving. But the secret to servanthood isn't running yourself ragged trying to be everything to everyone—it's pouring freely out of a full cup the things you were designed to give. This study shows how you can break the back of self-centeredness and experience the satisfaction of serving others wisely and effectively.

II Timothy & Titus
Friday, 7:30pm, offsite
will begin Friday, October 8
Led by Bill Paese & Doug Mace
These two books are written by the apostle Paul as personal letters to two people involved in first century ministry. Timothy was a young church leader for whom Paul was a mentor and a guide in the development of his ministry. II Timothy is written as a guide to young Timothy in the attributes of the Christian life. It is an encouragement to each one of us in how we should use our gifts and order our lives. Titus is another personal letter to a man on the island of Crete, speaking about order in the church body and in Titus’s life it is another encouragement to all of us.
